The new case management system’s data migration process will involve transferring existing data from the legacy Bitfocus platform into the Salesforce-based environment. The migration will be carefully planned and executed to ensure data integrity, security, and accuracy.
Key Objectives:
- Data Assessment and Mapping:
– Conduct an in-depth review of the current data within the Bitfocus system.
– Develop a data mapping strategy to align existing data fields with the structure of the new Salesforce environment. - Data Cleansing and Transformation:
– Identify any data inconsistencies, duplicates, or inaccuracies within the Bitfocus system.
– Cleanse and transform the data as required to ensure compatibility and proper formatting within Salesforce. - Data Extraction and Loading:
– Extract data from the Bitfocus system, ensuring secure handling and minimal disruption to current operations.
– Load the cleansed and transformed data into the new Salesforce environment, following best practices for secure and efficient data transfer. - Validation and Testing:
– Conduct testing for all data migrated, verifying that relationships, dependencies, and functionality are consistent with the legacy system’s requirements. - Documentation and Support:
– Document all migration steps, issues encountered, and resolutions for future reference and troubleshooting.
– Support users and stakeholders to ensure the new system functions as expected and address any post-migration issues or concerns.
Timeline: The data migration process will align with the overall project timeline. It aims for completion by February 14, 2025, with contingency time allotted for validation and issue resolution.
Resources Required:
– A Database Architect (DBA) or data migration specialist with experience in SQL queries and some understanding of Salesforce data architecture.
– Collaborate with the project team to extract data, validate, and ingestion into Salesforce. This includes meeting with the project team every day during working sessions.
